About The Position

Orthopedic Associates of Lancaster is seeking an experienced Radiologic Technologist to work in our fast-paced clinic and orthopedic urgent care. Candidate will cross train in cast/splint application and patient intake. This is a part-time position that will be scheduled to work 20-25 hours per week on average.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • BCLS certification
  • Licensed by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years of diagnostic imaging experience preferred
  • EPIC EMR system experience preferred
  • Inpatient Hospital experience preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to anticipate and multi-task

Responsibilities

  • Prepares patients for radiologic procedures.
  • Protects patient, self, and other staff members from radiation hazards.
  • Takes X-rays following established procedures for patient care and safety.
  • Involves setting up and operating radiographic equipment used in the medical diagnosis and/or treatment of patients.
  • Understand doctors’ orders, protocols, and requests from other clinical staff.
  • Includes implementing infection control procedures for the work area.
  • Selects proper ionizing factors for radiological diagnosis.
  • Adjusts/sets radiographic controls.
  • Positions patients and takes X-rays of specific parts of the patient’s body as requested by physicians.
  • Checks X-rays for clarity of image, retaking when needed.
  • Maintains required records including patient records, daily logbooks, and monthly reports.
  • Performs quantity and quality control checks to assure X-ay unit meets standards required by laws, rules, and departmental policies.
  • Complies with safety standards.
  • Cleans, maintains, and makes minor adjustments to radiographic equipment, including determining equipment repairs.
  • Maintains and records radiographic supplies.
  • Basic knowledge of cast and splint application and removal. Training will be provided.
  • Interview patient and document a well-detailed progress note for providers.
  • Collect all pertinent information from patients including medications, allergies, vitals, and past medical history.
  • Prepares patients for examinations, including suture/staple removal.
  • Other duties as assigned.
