Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited program in Radiologic Technology.
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Certified in Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
  • Registered Radiologic Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) as required by the state of Georgia.

  • Prior experience in diagnostic radiology.

Responsibilities

  • Operates X-Ray and fluoroscopic equipment to produce routine radiographs of designated portions of the human body.
  • Positions patients and adjusts equipment for taking x-rays, following established procedures.
  • Follows prescribed safety standards in operating radiologic equipment.
  • Examines radiologic film for properties such as density and contrast, definition, magnification and distortion.
  • Develops and processes radiologic film.
  • Delivers film to requester for reading/interpretation.
  • Maintains x-ray exam room.
  • Stocks necessary medical and radiological supplies.
  • Responsible for dissemination of x-ray reports and x-rays, maintaining a location log.
  • Schedules radiologic exams to be performed at outside labs, as necessary.
  • Gathers and prepares x-rays with physician interpretation for radiologist over read.
