About The Position

Requirements

• Radiographer license issued by the state of practice.
• Registered Technologist (RT) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 6 months of hire.
• Advanced training beyond High School in Radiologic Technology.
• 6 months to 1 year work experience as Rad Tech preferred.

Responsibilities

• Competently performs basic to advanced radiologic procedures including general diagnostic, general fluoroscopy, and c-arm procedures.
• Communicates with patients to explain procedures, obtain clinical history, and address any questions or concerns.
• Positions patients and selects exposure factors for various radiologic examinations while ensuring radiation protection.
• Identifies patients and labels images, ensuring exam accuracy and quality of radiographs.
• Assists and consults with physicians, working independently outside the department.
• Prepares and maintains records in accordance with regulatory agencies and documents billing codes.
• Serves as a technical resource and role model for students and staff.
• Performs patient positioning and transporting duties, utilizing proper techniques.
