About The Position
The Radiologic Technologist/CT Tech plays a crucial role in providing patient services through various imaging modalities. This position requires the technologist to assist Radiologists and physicians efficiently while performing routine clerical and support functions. The technologist must be proficient in using all radiology equipment to assist with diagnostic procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the imaging process. The role involves a combination of technical skills, patient interaction, and adherence to departmental policies and procedures. In this position, the technologist is responsible for correctly identifying each patient and reviewing their requisition for consistency with the clinical diagnosis. They must complete necessary patient history, including pregnancy and allergy information, and assess the patient's condition to ensure safety and comfort during examinations. The technologist is also tasked with reviewing examinations for technical accuracy and communicating pertinent data to the care team following procedures. Proper shielding and radiation protection must be utilized in accordance with departmental guidelines, and the technologist must monitor the patient's condition during their stay in the department. The role requires the technologist to manage images through various systems and perform quality checks. They must also accept and complete assignments as directed by the department Director, follow work schedules, and participate in cross-training for other modalities. The technologist is expected to demonstrate the hospital's mission and values, actively participate in problem-solving, and meet customer service standards to enhance the level of care provided to patients.
