About The Position

The position is for a Radiologic Technologist at Aurora Sinai Medical Center, requiring proficiency in basic to advanced radiologic procedures. The role involves performing various procedures including general diagnostic, fluoroscopy, pain clinic, GI lab, urology, and c-arm procedures. The technologist will communicate with patients to explain procedures, obtain clinical history, and ensure patient understanding. Responsibilities also include positioning patients, selecting exposure factors, ensuring radiation safety, processing images, and maintaining records in compliance with regulatory agencies. The technologist will serve as a resource for staff and students, facilitate clinical problem solving, and collaborate with other departments. Physical demands include lifting, pushing, and transporting patients, with a focus on safety and proper technique.

Requirements

  • Radiographer license issued by the state of Wisconsin.
  • Registered Technologist (RT) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) to be obtained within 6 months.
  • Advanced training beyond High School in Radiologic Technology.
  • Typically requires 2 years of experience in a Radiologic Technologist role.

Responsibilities

  • Proficiently performs basic to advanced radiologic procedures.
  • Communicates with patients to explain procedures and obtain clinical history.
  • Positions patients and selects exposure factors for various radiologic examinations.
  • Provides patient with radiation protection and safety.
  • Identifies patient and labels images, ensuring exam accuracy.
  • Processes images ensuring quality of radiographs.
  • Assists and consults with Radiologists.
  • Prepares and maintains records in accordance with regulatory agencies.
  • Documents billing codes of procedures performed.
  • Acts as a technical resource and role model for students and staff.
  • Facilitates clinical problem solving and collaborates with other departments.
  • Performs various patient positioning and transporting duties.
