About The Position

BallenIsles Country Club is excited to announce the exceptional career opportunity of Full Time Racquets Professional. Qualified candidates will thrive in a hospitality environment and be highly focused on providing superior playing conditions for our members and their guests. General Purpose: The Racquets Professional responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, teaching lessons and clinics to ladies teams, private lessons and junior’s players. Designs, plans and implements tennis programs to include special events and clinics.

Requirements

  • Three to five years related experience as a racquets professional/instruction; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • CPR, First Aid Certification, Teaching Certification (Tennis and pickleball)
  • Ability to read and speak English may be required in order to perform the duties of the job (e.g. the associates may be required to communicate with English speaking customers or co-workers, the manuals for the equipment the associates may use are in English).
  • Frequently stands, walks, uses hands; talks and hears, reaches with hands and arms, climbs, balances; stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls. Occasionally sits. Regularly lifts up to 10 pounds and occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequently works in outdoor weather conditions. Noise level is moderate.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to string racquets is preferred but not required.
  • Possess U.S.T.A. rating of 4.5 or better.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises all tennis and pickleball play and proper charging of fees, and rental of equipment.
  • Initiates and promotes tennis and pickleball clinics, special events and programs in an effort to attract and maintain members’ interests.
  • Provides beginning through advanced instruction (private and group) for all levels of players.
  • Implements and develops lesson programs for adults and juniors.
  • Enforces all club rules and regulations governing the use of the club/facility, its equipment and other property.
  • Properly represents the club in state or national events as time will permit.
  • Ensures proper inspection of the courts/facilities on a daily basis prior to the start of play and ascertain that all necessary maintenance has been performed and the courts are in a safe working order. Reports any maintenance problems to the department manager or Maintenance Manager.
  • Responsible for implementing and maintaining excellent service to achieve guest satisfaction.
  • Regular and reliable attendance.
  • Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
