About The Position

The Racker position at Sonaca North America involves performing noncomplex rack and unrack operations under the supervision of the Chem Processing Supervisor or a qualified trainer. The role is essential in ensuring that parts are prepared for various chemical processes, contributing to the overall quality and efficiency of production in the aerospace and defense sector.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or high school equivalency preferred.
  • Ability to read and comprehend American English is required.
  • Previous experience in racking and unracking chemical processes is desired.
  • Must become proficient in using the Sonaca North America's Work Order Tracking Program.
  • Application of basic math skills is required.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal directions is required.
  • Interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Attention to detail is required.
  • Must have a positive, team-player attitude.
  • Must have team-building capabilities.
  • Must have a strong work ethic.
  • Must be dependable.

Responsibilities

  • Reading and understanding work order requirements.
  • Identifying parts with printed and/or electronic pictures.
  • Solvent-cleaning production parts prior to chemical processes.
  • Racking parts for anodize operations related to the Gun Clip Project, including gun clips and bottom plates.
  • Racking parts for basic chemical processes such as Alkaline Clean, Conversion Coat, Pickling and Passivation.
  • Operating pallet jacks and forklifts, with appropriate certification.
  • Operating weight scales to verify quantities.
  • Keeping the Chemical Process area clean and organized per company Ultraclean/6S requirements.
  • Observing safety requirements and using all required safety equipment.
  • Handling customer-supplied product with care.
  • Maintaining and reinforcing quality standards to meet and exceed customer expectations.
  • Being available to work overtime when required, including weekends.
  • Performing other duties as assigned by the Processing Supervisor or trainer.
