About The Position

The Operations Engineering Consultant 1 position at Celestica requires the application of in-depth knowledge of professional standards and precedents in the area of specialty. The role involves working on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors. Incumbents are accountable for the quality of work delivered by external suppliers and have decision-making authority to deliver on team goals. The position may lead a multi-functional work group or project team and requires effective communication with senior managers and external customers on significant issues.

Requirements

• At least 10 years of mechanical engineering experience in the data center rack manufacturing industry.
• Full understanding of the manufacturing process of racks and key quality controls.
• Experience in optimizing rack design for cost, quality, and manufacturability.
• Proficiency in CAD tools such as Creo, Solidworks, and AutoCad.
• Strong technical knowledge in troubleshooting mechanical quality issues.

Nice To Haves

• Past experience in mechanical support for ORV3 rack.

Responsibilities

• Perform tasks related to mechanical engineering in the data center rack manufacturing industry.
• Understand the entire manufacturing process of racks and key quality controls.
• Optimize rack design for cost, quality, and manufacturability with DFM concepts.
• Create or modify 3D models and 2D drawings of rack systems using CAD tools.
• Manage qualification processes from NPI phase to mass production phase.
• Troubleshoot and solve mechanical quality issues using techniques like 8D, fishbone, and 5 whys.
• Present technical project status and manage communication with internal teams and external customers.
