  • Supervise shelter activities to ensure the safety of participants.
  • Responsible for intakes, interviews, and after-hours referrals.
  • Ensure timely bunk assignments, dorm inspections, and property storage.
  • Maintain accurate logs, shift reports, and participant records, both manually and using a web-based program.
  • Perform urinalysis and breathalyzer testing of participants as needed.
  • Attend agency and program staff meetings.
  • Facilitate de-escalation, problem-solving and crisis intervention services as necessary.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently as well as part of a team.
  • Ability to appropriately assess a situation and de-escalate/take corrective action as necessary.
  • Good computer skills.
  • Hearing and vision adequate for interaction with participants, interaction with staff, and interaction with the general public.
  • Work is primarily performed indoors, occasionally accompanied by moderate noise levels and exposure to scents.
  • Frequently required to sit/stand at a computer or in a stationary position.
  • Frequently operates a computer and other office productivity equipment, such as copy machine, printer, and phone.
  • Direct or Lived Experience with homelessness, addiction, and/or low-income populations.
  • Understanding of the issues surrounding homelessness, chemical dependency, domestic violence, and sexual assault
