The Research Associate Integrated Pest Management (IPM) at Corteva Agriscience Hawaii is responsible for overseeing IPM activities within the Agronomy team. This role focuses on delivering high-quality research outputs while ensuring compliance with pesticide regulations and safety protocols. The candidate will manage pesticide applications, supervise equipment maintenance, and lead training efforts to promote best practices in pest management.

  • Oversee IPM activities to ensure safe and successful Agronomy operations.
  • Maintain pesticide-related data and supervise spray applications.
  • Conduct scouting and ensure compliance with pesticide application regulations.
  • Train and supervise pesticide handlers and sprayer operators.
  • Maintain chemical inventory and manage pesticide storage room.
  • Lead and supervise IPM activities and coordinate with peers for pest control execution.
  • Monitor weather conditions and adjust practices accordingly.
  • Participate in educational training on Integrated Pest Management and Worker Protection Standard.
  • Support the development and deployment of new technology to improve IPM practices.
  • Bachelor's degree in Agriculture or related field.
  • 2 to 4 years of experience in the seed industry or tropical agriculture.
  • Experience operating and maintaining large spraying equipment.
  • Proficient in using computers, including Windows and Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to obtain certification for respiratory protection equipment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to lead and manage crews, including seasonal labor.
  • Valid Hawaii private pesticide applicator license or ability to obtain one within three months.
  • Experience with Raven or similar application systems.
  • Experience with Trimble guidance systems.
  • Basic mathematics skills and logical reasoning abilities.
  • Ability to work in an outdoor tropical agriculture setting.
