About The Position

The RN - Behavioral Health Adult Inpatient position is a full-time role located in Chicago, IL, with working hours from 7 AM to 7:30 PM, including rotating weekends and holidays. The role involves utilizing the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate the delivery of nursing care to patients and their families. The nurse will maintain competency reflective of current standards of practice, interact and contribute to the professional development of peers, and integrate ethical provisions in all areas of nursing practice. The position also requires the integration of evidence-based practice and research findings into nursing practice, promoting safety measures to prevent patient and staff injuries, and guiding and supervising staff in the provision of patient care. Documentation must be thorough and timely, and the nurse will perform other related duties as assigned or requested.

Requirements

  • Prefer at least one year of experience as a staff nurse.
  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Demonstrates mastery of nursing skills.
  • Communicates effectively and is able to guide and supervise nursing personnel.
  • Current Illinois Nursing licensure.
  • American Heart Association CPR Certification.
  • ACLS, PALS, NRP may be required within six months depending on the unit requirements.
