Your adventure awaits! Williamsburg Marine, a division of Patrick Industries, is adding an R&D Technician to their team in Milford, IN. The R&D Technician will support hands-on development work, assist with prototype builds, and help transition new products into full production.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of hands-on technical, assembly, or fabrication experience
  • Ability to read simple technical drawings or build instructions
  • Skilled with common tools and comfortable in a shop environment
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and practical problem‑solving skills
  • High attention to detail; dependable and team‑oriented
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects independently in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Strong personal accountability, discretion, and integrity when handling sensitive financial data

Responsibilities

  • Build and assemble prototype units and early‑stage product samples
  • Use standard hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment for hands-on fabrication
  • Support trial builds and pilot runs to prepare new products for production
  • Provide feedback to improve build methods, product fit, and manufacturability
  • Assist in training production staff on new build processes as needed
  • Interpret basic drawings, build notes, or instructions to support development work
  • Document measurements, observations, and build details for future reference
  • Maintain organized work areas, tools, and prototype components
  • Communicate clearly with engineering, development, and production teams
  • Participate in testing prototypes for quality, function, and overall performance
