About The Position

Join Hitachi Energy’s innovative R&D team as a Software Developer, where your work will power the future of energy distribution! Based in either Raleigh, NC or Jefferson City, MO, you’ll collaborate with global experts to develop cutting-edge software for the distribution transformer business. Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures and guidelines. This role requires an on-site presence and includes up to 10% global travel based on project needs—giving you the opportunity to connect with international teams and see your work in action.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of hands-on software development experience.
• Proficiency with .Net Framework (VB.Net or C#); .Net Core experience preferred.
• Experience with version control (Git) and SQL Server (MS SQL).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and Azure development tools.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

Nice To Haves

• minimum of 2 years of experience in electrical design and development, with a focus on Dry-Type and Liquid-Filled transformers in the power industry.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the development of electrical design software for our Jefferson City factory.
• Upgrade and modernize codebases to the latest .Net Core framework.
• Build and enhance Azure-based applications.
• Design and update architecture for electrical design tools.
• Drive innovation through proof-of-concept projects and new technologies.
• Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines for seamless deployment.
• Implement new features, resolve bugs, and refactor code for quality.
• Collaborate in an Agile, multinational team and document new developments.
