We are looking for an innovative, highly motivated and business-partner centric R&D Service Engineer to join our Automation and Field Technologies (AFT) Service Engineering team located in the Indianapolis, IN area. Local residence is required to fulfill the hands-on portions of the role. What You’ll Do: In this role, the primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following areas: Hands-on support, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, calibration, and other highly skilled technical expertise for a wide array of analytical chemistry instruments (HPLC, LC, GC, MS, NMR, etc.) (Agilent, Sciex, Thermo, etc.). Provide oversight, coordination, and direction relative to areas of instrument expertise (e.g., HPLC’s) for training, support, PM’s, GLP compliance, etc. Leverage traditional support skills to resolve issues such as mechanical, electrical and software related issues. Integrate and connect components of LC, GC and MS instruments. Utilize work management software to track issue resolution, progress, instrument history and to communicate with business partners. Document service records (including GLP compliance), asset management and safety inspections. Collaborate with external vendors - Agilent, Shimadzu, Waters, Sciex, etc. Assist in installation and validation of equipment into service. Assist with OEM vendor coordination, site, and safety requirements. Work in a business casual environment with flexible work/life opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or associate degree with course work related to analytical chemistry/mechanical or electrical engineering disciplines with 3-5 years of applicable experience or bachelor’s or associate’s degree in Biology/Chemistry disciplines with solid proven experience with lab automation and instrumentation support and preventative maintenance.
  • Strong understanding of laboratory processes and applications in analytical chemistry and/or biological sciences.
  • Excellent problem solving, collaboration, communication, customer service and time management skills.
  • Proven ability to work across disciplines and deliver results on time.
  • Have the right to work in the U.S. without restriction.
