About The Position

Requirements
- Have a degree in PhD in chemistry, polymer science, materials science or related disciplines.
- Have minimum five years’ of experience in the chemical industry
- Are experienced in Polyurethane applications, especially in insulation related applications.
Responsibilities
- Executing / leading R&D activities in Polyurethanes as defined by R&D projects or topic goals.
- Participating in ideation processes by closely working with marketing, sales, TD,production, etc. at PM but also via other BASF units and externally (e.g., customers, suppliers, universities).
- Providing technical guidance to lab technicians and demonstrate leadership in behavior in support of the Exposure Reduction Program and other safety programs to help ensure the health and safety of all.
- Protecting and safeguarding R&D results by documentation and patenting; communicate and share openly knowledge within respective technical communities and BASF internally where appropriate.
- Utilizing & supporting further development of digital tools to drive digitalization of R&D at BASF.
- Committing to clients; listening to, understanding, and gaining knowledge from key customers in the industries served, prioritizing what they value and need, while engaging and driving to fulfill those needs, while you translate them into a product.
- Providing regular project updates to management, supporting scientists, marketing, sales, and tech service colleagues.
