Rust-Oleum Corporation is a worldwide leader in protective paints and coatings for both home and industry seeking an R&D Scientist to work at our Pleasant Prairie, WI location. We offer a wide range of products including decorative fashion paints, durable industrial roof repair coatings and, of course, our famous rust-fighting formula that started it all. The R&D Scientist will drive product development from concept to formula development, through product launch. This role involves testing products, documenting test data, generating and communicating test reports detailing project processes, results, conclusions, and recommending additional actions or research. The scientist will work closely with marketing, sales, and regulatory teams to develop competitive claims and product demonstrations. Additionally, the role includes developing, improving, and customizing products, equipment, formulas, processes, and analytical methods. Conducting quality control tests and adhering to safety, quality, and housekeeping policies and guidelines are also essential responsibilities. The scientist will collaborate with peers and supervisors to analyze research projects, interpret test results, or develop nonstandard tests, and will develop and maintain professional relationships with suppliers and technical experts. Writing technical papers and reports, and preparing standards and specifications for processes, products, or tests are also part of the job. Background checks including drug screening may be required.
