About The Position

We are seeking an R&D Product Development Scientist who is a highly analytical and scientifically curious with strong data analysis skills. This role blends computational analysis with hands on experimental work, supporting assay design, performance characterization, and data driven decision making throughout the IDEXX product development lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with 7-10 years of experience or Master’s Degree with 5-7 years of experience in Physical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biomedical Engineering, or related discipline
  • Experience with immunoassay development and standard laboratory practices.
  • Familiarity with Six Sigma tools to critically evaluate, interpret, and summarize data.
  • Experience with statistical software such as JMP, R, Python, or Minitab.
  • Familiarity with data simulation techniques (Monte Carlo, random sampling, probabilistic modeling).
  • Excellent verbal, technical writing, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain accurate and clear documentation. Strong proficiency with MS Office.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the design and execution of laboratory studies to characterize assay performance metrics.
  • Apply foundational statistical techniques: regression, ANOVA, variance component analysis —under the guidance of senior statisticians and scientists.
  • Support the development and maintenance of error models that characterize measurement variability, instrument uncertainty, and assay performance. Assist in identifying sources of measurement and process error and help quantify their impact.
  • Calculate and maintain statistical control limits (LoD, LoQ, precision estimates) and contribute to SPC chart development and monitoring.
  • Create clear data visualizations and summaries for technical and non-technical audiences
  • Maintain well-organized documentation of methodologies and results to support audits, regulatory submissions, and knowledge sharing.
  • Build domain expertise in immunoassay development and new product development processes over time
