About The Position

Micron Technology is a world leader in innovating memory and storage solutions that accelerate the transformation of information into intelligence, inspiring the world to learn, communicate and advance faster than ever. The Process Development Engineer position within Micron's Technology Development group (Fab 4) focuses on Metrology, where the primary responsibility is to develop new metrology applications and recipes, analyze measurement results, and implement innovative solutions into the R&D pilot line manufacturing environment. This role will concentrate on one of four subject areas within the metrology group: Optical Thin Films/Scatterometry/OCD, Overlay/Registration, X-Ray, or CDSEM. In this position, you will drive the understanding of new metrology technology and measurement techniques to ensure that our measurement capabilities align with the technical device roadmaps. You will partner with metrology equipment vendors to continuously improve software and hardware, as well as develop new measurement techniques. Additionally, you will be responsible for optimizing and maintaining the calibration of metrology systems, working closely with process development and integration engineers to enhance measurements for various device process flows and layer stacks. Your role will also involve developing applications on next-generation processes and technologies within Fab 4, qualifying them for technology transfers to production fabs. You will evaluate new and innovative metrology tools to determine the most cost-effective solutions with the highest accuracy and precision for deployment in R&D and global manufacturing. Furthermore, you will craft and optimize the layout of metrology targets to improve measurement quality.
