In this ME R&D Role, you’ll leverage and expand your engineering skills to quickly design and prototype new components for our solutions to characterize NTN UE, 5G, Automotive mmWave devices in our Over The Air test chambers. You will be part of a larger team of RF engineers, software engineers, 3GPP representatives, test system designers to conceptualize, prototype, and refine a product design to meet customer’s needs in real-time. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related fields. MSME highly desired
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience designing complex mechanical, electrol mechanical, and thermal systems
  • Proficient user of CAD (e.g., NX, ANSYS) to design precision machined metal parts that operate up to 110GHz
  • Demonstrated experience in designing and fabricating large precision machined parts (up to 10m x 10m)
  • Experienced with prototyping processes (milling, turning, sheet metal, 3D printing)
  • Competent with hand and bench tools for quick modification of prototypes
  • Demonstrated experience in GDT/Tolerance analysis for precision mechanical assemblies
  • Experienced in using cooling design and structural analysis tools
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Ability to interact and influence customers and suppliers
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and a dynamic environment
  • Ability to work across multiple functions to drive multiple development threads
  • Scoping of position will be contingent upon applicable skills and experience for the role.
  • Up to 25% international travel

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with RF engineers to design antennas, reflectors and test chambers.
  • Select and develop vendors to fabricate these precision components, optimizing delivery time, and cost.
  • Leverage the experience of EE and ME coworkers to establish reusable components can span our entire OTA portfolio.
  • Develop solutions containing SW controlled mechanical stages to automate device testing.
