R&D Laboratory Technician

The R&D Lab Technician will support R&D Department functions by collecting samples, performing testing, documenting and communicating results, and operating and maintaining laboratory equipment. Requirements
- BS or MS degree in a life science area, chemistry background preferred
- 2+ years previous synthetic chemistry or molecular biology laboratory or equivalent experience
- Experience or knowledge of workflows with DNA & RNA extraction
- Able to obtain half face respirator certification upon hire
- Ability to lift 30 lbs
- Solid communication, organizational, and time-management skills
- Must demonstrate excellent organizational skills and ability to manage large amounts of technical data and documentation
- Proficiency with standard computer software
- Strong attention to detail
Responsibilities
- Assist in magnetic bead-based development by applying basic chemistry knowledge, particularly in chemical synthesis methods
- Play a key role in laboratory functions such as DNA extraction, RNA extraction, PCR, qPCR, capillary sequencing and Next Generation Sequencing
- Generate clear and concise technical reports
- Execute experimental strategy developed by manager and senior laboratory personnel
- Work with senior laboratory personnel to review progress and present results
- Maintain laboratory, cleaning, maintenance, and safety per SOPs
- Revise and update SOPs, as needed
- Follow established company SOP and ISO 9001 Guidelines
