The R D Lab Technician I plays a crucial role in supporting the Research and Development team by performing routine and non-routine testing and analyses using appropriate technical equipment and instruments under laboratory conditions. This position involves mixing formulations and evaluating films prepared from them, as well as supporting the color group by taking color measurements, performing visual evaluations, and creating color variants. The technician will also maintain color formulas in the color database, ensuring that all processes align with established test methods and customer expectations. In this role, the R D Lab Technician I will be responsible for collecting and processing data for analysis, organizing and maintaining accurate information in a technical database, and formulating and updating custom colors in a timely manner. The technician will interact with Product Management and R D to ensure the timely delivery of colored samples and will be tasked with processing, analyzing, and resolving customer color complaints. Additionally, the technician will develop a comprehensive understanding of internal test methods and follow guidelines to support the custom color matching process. Collaboration with Operations is essential to ensure a smooth process in color scale-up, and the technician will also manage and maintain lab inventory while adhering to safety protocols for operating, maintaining, calibrating, and troubleshooting lab equipment.
