The Summer Internship Program is a 12-week paid internship immersive experience that provides functional learning working on robust and challenging project work, Executive and Senior leadership engagement, and exposure to Danaher Business System fundamentals. The program culminates with a report-out presentation to leaders from the organization. After successful completion of the program, interns will be considered to return as a full-time associate upon graduation. This position is part of the R D department located in Madison, WI and will be on-site. You will be a part of the Protein R D team and report to the Director of Protein R D and work alongside our experienced scientists. The R D Intern for Aldevron is responsible for carrying out general research laboratory activities under moderate supervision. They will help develop innovative methods/products and will follow SOPs when applicable. They will design and execute experiments, interpret data, and communicate results at regular team meetings. For a given project, laboratory techniques might include mammalian cell culture, CRISPR-mediated gene editing, in vitro biochemical assays, and recombinant protein expression, purification, and characterization. The role offers frequent opportunities to interact with other functional groups including product management, process development, and manufacturing.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Masters or PhD degree in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Chemistry or related life science discipline.
  • Previous experience with mammalian cell culture.
  • Previous experience with recombinant protein expression and purification.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in CRISPR-mediated gene editing.
