About The Position

The Molecular Diagnostic team at the Pleasanton campus is on the lookout for a motivated and focused undergraduate student who is excited about developing an integrated ddPCR system for molecular biology testing. This role is a fantastic opportunity to dive into the world of molecular biology assay development and get hands-on experience with cutting-edge scientific research. You'll be working alongside experienced scientists who are eager to share their knowledge and help you succeed.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled as an undergraduate (sophomore/junior) student pursuing a degree in biology or biochemistry or related field.
  • Must have a 3.0 cumulative overall GPA or better (on a 4.0 scale).
  • Must have basic laboratory experience.
  • Strong problem solving, organizational, and communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing laboratory solutions.
  • Help characterize and optimize different workflows in the ddPCR system.
  • Execute defined characterization experiments according to instructions.
  • Follow appropriate SOPs and written procedures.
  • Maintain accurate and organized records and documentation of all work performed.
  • Assist with other assigned activities.
