About The Position

Avery Dennison Corporation is seeking innovators, collaborators, and problem solvers for their Internship Program, specifically for an R&D Intern position in North America during the summer of 2026. The program focuses on cultivating future talent through experiential learning, collaboration on strategic projects, and access to business leaders. Interns will work on process improvement initiatives and collaborate with the R&D leadership team in state-of-the-art facilities. The internship serves as a talent pipeline for the Early Careers Program in R&D and throughout the organization.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or Materials Science.
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
  • Sponsorship is not available now or in the future.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous internship/co-op experience or relevant work experience.
  • Experience in an industrial R&D lab environment preferred.
  • Experience via student organizations such as Engineers without Borders, American Society of Chemical Engineers, Society of Women Engineers, National Society of Black Engineers, Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers, etc.
  • Volunteerism or similar activities.

Responsibilities

  • Use design of experiment techniques and statistical methods to plan and perform testing and process trials on laboratory, pilot, and production-scale equipment.
  • Execute testing protocols to measure product performance against customer requirements in conjunction with Avery Dennison testing facilities.
  • Collaborate with businesses across R&D teams to translate platform technology into next-generation products.
  • Formulate new products against sustainability and digitization targets.
