How You’ll Make an Impact The Research and Development (R&D) Intern will help the Technology team characterize various lubricating greases and assist in R&D activities. This is a continious internship opportunity that will work through the summer and into the spring and/or fall semester and can be flexible with your school schedule. It will need to sit on-site in Lexington, KY

Requirements

Currently enroleld in a Chemistry, Biology, or Engineering colllege program
Good team work mentality
Good communication skills.
Good computer knowledge in Microsoft Office applications.
The ability to occasionally life and carry up to 25lbs.

Previous experience in a scientific lab

Responsibilities

Characterization of greases for commerical activities support.
Characterization of greases to support R&D activities.
R&D related materials synthesis.
Evaluating/Screening commerical raw materials and additives for various projects.
Processing/recording data from commerical and R&D activties as required.
Assisting in addressing customer related issues/field problems.
Maintenance of testing equipment and materials.
Getting familiar with our VLIMS system to collect and record data.
Performing data analysis and communication with formulators and scientists.
Other duties and responsibilities as determined by Valvoline from time to time in its sole discretion.
