About The Position

Owns the creation and support of firmware and embedded solutions delivered by an Agile development team. Works cross functionally with marketing, business leads, UX/UI design, and engineering/technology teams to deliver solutions through creating and prioritizing backlog items and evaluating increments to ensure features and functionality of solution releases are met. Engages with leadership, customers, end-users, research firms and other development teams to achieve business and technology objectives with high value and satisfaction. This role is expected to be in-office in the Versailles, Ohio location 4 days a week with one day remote. This is not a remote position.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or accredited certification with relevant experience.
• 3+ years of Agile/Scrum development experience in firmware or embedded systems.
• Scrum Product Owner certification desired.
• Cloud/Hybrid/IoT solutions desired.
• Scaled Agile framework experience desired.

• Proven experience creating and maintaining roadmaps and product backlogs in an Agile environment.

• Understanding of embedded systems architecture and real-time constraints.
• Experience with firmware version control, OTA updates, and bootloader development.
• Ability to interpret hardware schematics and collaborate on hardware/software integration.
• Familiarity with regulatory standards relevant to embedded systems (e.g. IEC, ISO, FDA).

Responsibilities

• Leads delivery of technology solutions by Agile teams.
• Defines and prioritizes firmware product backlog items, ensuring quality standards.
• Collaborates with Product Managers and Technical Leads/Engineers on user stories and features.
• Clarifies requirements, resolves roadblocks, and aligns on strategy and outcomes.
• Reviews and evaluates business opportunities with business development.
• Leads or participates in customer focus groups and gathers research through advisory boards.
• Uses design thinking to capture business needs, requirements, and opportunities.
• Analyzes feasibility, costs, and potential programs.
• Maintains a delivery roadmap and collaborates with applicable project management on timelines.
• Ensures digital solution documentation aligns with Midmark’s quality management system.
• Collaborates with hardware engineers to align firmware development with hardware design and testing cycles.
• Ensures firmware meets performance, safety, and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinates with QA and test engineering to validate firmware functionality through unit, integration and system-level testing.
