About The Position

DISHER is currently partnering with a leader in food stabilization in Grand Rapids, MI to fill their R&D Equipment Technician position. In this role, you will be responsible for the cleaning, sanitation, preventative maintenance and operational readiness of all research and development equipment. You will support engineering projects and customer testing by preparing, setting up and assisting with the equipment operation to ensure safe, efficient and successful testing activities. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2 or more years of experience in manufacturing, lab support, equipment sanitation or maintenance preferred.
  • Mechanical aptitude required, technical training or certification a plus
  • Basic mechanical troubleshooting ability
  • Ability to follow written procedures and safety procedures
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Comfortable working in a hands-on production or R&D environment
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods

  • Mechanical aptitude required, technical training or certification a plus

Responsibilities

  • Equipment Cleaning and Sanitation
  • Clean and sanitize R&D equipment according to established procedures and safety standards.
  • Ensure equipment is properly prepared for engineering testing and customer trials.
  • Maintain documentation of cleaning and sanitation activities as required.
  • Preventative Maintenance
  • Perform weekly, monthly and quarterly preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Assist in troubleshooting basic mechanical issues.
  • Report equipment deficiencies or repair needs to Engineering.
  • Maintain PM logs and service documentation
  • Customer Trial and Engineering Support
  • Set up equipment for internal engineering projects and external customer trial runs.
  • Support trial execution, including monitoring equipment operation, material handling and disposal, other tasks as needed.
  • Tear down and clean equipment following trials
  • Collaborate with Engineering to ensure trial objectives are met
  • Supply Management
  • Maintain appropriate inventory levels of cleaning supplies, sanitation materials, and maintenance consumables.
  • Ensure proper storage and organization of tools and materials
  • Safety and Compliance
  • Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
  • Use required PPE and maintained a safe, organized work area
