Join our Rapid City engineering team for a hands-on summer internship where you'll contribute to real-world projects focused on intelligent protection relay technologies and electronic safety systems. This internship offers a unique opportunity to explore multiple aspects of engineering design working alongside a team of cross discipline experienced engineers in a collaborative environment.

Requirements

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, with an expected graduation of 2027 or 2028
• Demonstrated interest in hands-on design and development through coursework, personal projects, other internships, or extracurriculars
• Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Available to work 40 hours per week during summer 2026

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the design of components for electronic safety systems
• Electrical Engineers: Design and layout printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs)
• Mechanical Engineers: Design enclosures and mechanical interfaces
• Computer Engineers / Computer Scientists: Develop embedded firmware and software tools
• Test, validate, and troubleshoot prototypes and systems
• Analyze test results and prepare technical documentation
• Participate in design reviews and engineering discussions
• Learn about the product development lifecycle, from concept through prototyping and validation

• Hourly Wage Range: $24-30/hour
