This highly motivated individual, as part of the R&D team, will be responsible for research projects during their summer at Watts! This position reports to the Sr. Director, R&D and Applied Research. This role is onsite and is based in Fort Worth, TX.

Requirements

  • Current student, rising junior or senior.
  • Pursuing bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or engineering technology.
  • Understanding of and adherence to applicable laws, codes, policies, regulations, and safety practices and procedures.
  • Must successfully establish employment eligibility and satisfactorily complete background checks, including Urinalysis, and required pre-employment testing as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 2D and 3D CAD design support for various NPD projects.
  • Create and modify BOMs (bills of material) and MOMs (methods of manufacture).
  • Compile data to demonstrate results using spreadsheets, graphs tables.
  • Initiate and support the fabrication of new product designs for prototypes as well as first production.
  • Create work instructions, instruction manual and other technical documents to support the manufacturing, operation and repair of new products.
  • Support testing as well as other day-to-day activities associated with the development lab.
  • Collaborate with other contributors to the NPD process both inside and outside of the NPD departments to ensure the successful completion of NPD projects.
  • Assume responsibility for other projects and duties as assigned by the R&D Leader or Company management.
