Your Opportunity: As an R&D Engineering Co-op at Boston Scientific, you will… • Research, develop, design, and evaluate materials, components, assemblies, processes and/or equipment • Work “hands-on” in performing testing, troubleshooting, and developing prototypes supporting the development of new products and sustaining of manufactured products • Utilize CAD/Solidworks, as required, to complete tasks supporting the above • Design and coordinate engineering tests and experiments • Perform basic statistical analyses, as necessary • Maintain detailed documentation throughout all phases of research and development • Gather and provide technical data for technical reviews • Contribute or prepare standard reports/documentation to communicate results to the technical community • Contribute ideas to or generate Intellectual Property submissions • Work cooperatively and collaboratively with peers, engineering personnel, technicians, and management

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Biomedical, or Biomechanical Engineering.
  • Must graduate between Fall 2026 – Spring 2027.
  • Must commit to a full-time co-op assignment during the following program period: July 13, 2026 – December 18, 2026.
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment-based work authorization (F-1 students with practical training and candidates requiring H-1Bs, TNs, etc. will not be considered).
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from the Austin, TX, Boston Scientific Corporate location.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong interest in detailed and “hands-on” mechanical design for medical devices.
  • Previous internship/co-op or research experience.
  • Knowledge of CAD
  • Experience in material fabrication technologies (Machining, 3-D printing, etc.).
  • Experience in report writing and PowerPoint presentations of technical content
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse, cross-functional teams.
