We are seeking a motivated and adaptable R D Engineer Intern to join our team at La Jolla CA. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering (preferably biomedical or bioengineering), and possess excellent analytical thinking, multitasking, teamwork, and collaboration skills. The internship will have the chance to participate in projects with a team of mechanical, optical, electronic, and software engineers, as well as application scientists. In such projects, you will be working closely with project managers, product managers, manufacturing team, product support team, quality and technical support team to achieve project goal. This internship offers an opportunity to apply technical knowledge and gain hands-on experiences in drafting and reviewing engineering drawings, drafting and validating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and generating technical marketing and training contents for products including flow cytometry, real-time cell analysis systems, and instrument automation integration.

  • Draft and Review Engineering Drawings
  • Create and evaluate detailed engineering drawings to ensure precision and adherence to industry standards.
  • Develop and Validate SOPs
  • Draft and validate Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for engineering processes, ensuring compliance and efficiency.
  • Generate technical marketing and training contents
  • Create technical documents and training documents for internal training purpose and for customer training and product marketing purpose.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work collaboratively with R D engineers, product support engineers, product managers, project managers, manufacturing teams, quality, and service organizations to achieve project goals.
  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering or bioengineering (expected graduation in 2026 or 2027)
  • Strong academic performance with a GPA of 3.7 or above.
  • Relevant coursework includes human biology, cell biology, statistics, thermodynamics, mechanics, biomechanics, and biomaterials.
  • Familiarity with MATLAB.
  • Good understanding about cell analysis analytical instruments is preferred, including flow cytometer and cell imaging system.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience in teamwork and collaboration.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Intern pay rate for this position is $21.19 - $22.52/hour plus eligibility for paid holidays and medical benefits.
