About The Position

The Lab Technician will be responsible for managing and maintaining the lab environment, including hardware configuration, system setup, and network settings. This role demands hands-on expertise in test system hardware assembly, troubleshooting, and configuration, as well as the ability to ensure seamless lab operations and network connectivity. The Lab Technician will collaborate with engineers, developers, and operations teams to support testing, prototyping, and development activities. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented technician with a passion for hands-on work and the ability to manage complex hardware and network configurations in a lab environment. Individuals will need previous mechanical and electronic experience in Engineering or Manufacturing environment, as these are key skills required for this position. This position has a wide variety of responsibilities to support New Product Introductions as well as ongoing sustaining products.

Requirements

• Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of hardware configuration, and test equipment.
• Experience in system setup, calibration, and troubleshooting of hardware systems.
• Proficiency in configuring and managing network devices (routers, switches, access points, etc.).
• Understanding of TCP/IP protocols, network topology, and basic network troubleshooting techniques.
• Lab Operations and Management: Ability to solder and rework surface mount and through hole components.
• Familiarity with lab equipment and tools, including oscilloscopes.
• Experience in managing lab operations, inventory, and maintenance schedules.
• Knowledge of lab safety protocols and procedures.
• Problem-Solving and Technical Support: Strong troubleshooting skills for identifying and resolving hardware and network issues.
• Ability to work in a high-pressure environment and support diverse teams with technical challenges.
• Documentation and Communication Skills: Proficiency in documenting hardware configurations, network setups, and testing procedures.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with stakeholders and provide clear documentation.
• Advanced knowledge in the field of electrical technology and software.
• Demonstrated physical capability when supporting porotype builds and debug.
• A bachelor's degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering or an associate's degree with 4-6 years of experience.
• 1 - 5 years of experience in the field of electrical technology and software.
• US Citizenship required

Responsibilities

• Hardware Configuration and System Setup: Assemble, configure, and maintain test systems.
• Set up and calibrate hardware systems to meet project specifications and testing requirements.
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware issues, including hardware failures and compatibility challenges.
• Maintain inventory of lab hardware and components and ensure proper documentation of system configurations.
• Lab Operations Management: Manage day-to-day lab operations, ensuring a clean, organized, and safe workspace.
• Oversee the installation, maintenance, and regular inspection of lab equipment and tools.
• Provide technical support for engineers using the lab for testing and prototyping.
• Network Configuration and Management: Set up and configure lab network infrastructure, including routers, and switches.
• Monitor and troubleshoot network connectivity issues within the lab environment.
• Testing and Support: Assist in the execution of hardware and system tests, including functional, performance, and stress testing.
• Support engineers and developers in configuring test environments for specific projects.
• Maintenance and Continuous Improvement: Perform routine maintenance of lab systems and equipment, ensuring optimal performance and uptime.
• Identify opportunities to improve lab workflows and systems for increased efficiency.
• Stay updated with emerging technologies in hardware, systems, and networking.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed records of hardware configurations, network setups, and lab procedures.
• Generate reports on lab activities, hardware usage, and network performance.
• Ensure proper labelling and organization of hardware, cables, and network devices.
