About The Position

Radiance Technologies, a rapidly growing employee-owned company, is seeking an R&D Electrical Engineer to support various ongoing programs within the RF & HPM Testing Division. The engineer will: Design and conduct RF testing using laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, power amplifiers, etc. Design custom control systems to interface with devices and equipment Design custom electronics and perform troubleshooting and failure analysis Develop supporting hardware for internal and customer testing needs Participate in literature reviews, test design, and presentations. The duties will include but are not limited to RF test design and instrumentation, hardware or software reverse engineering, technical design, analysis, testing of HPM systems, data acquisition devices, and digital control systems. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a laboratory setting while engaging in research and development in the area of High-Power Microwaves (HPM). The work will include interacting with engineers, technicians, and vendors to perform daily tasks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related discipline
  • Experience with standard electrical laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, function generators, multimeters, spectrum analyzers, vector network analyzers, and/or power amplifiers
  • Experience with the design and analysis of analog and digital electronics
  • Experience in printed circuit board (PCB) design from schematic capture, board layout, DRC, production file generation, and test
  • Self-motivated and able to work well within research and development team
  • US Citizenship with the ability to obtain a security clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 2 years of applicable experience (2 years substitution for MS)
  • Experience with LabVIEW, C, C++, and/or Python
  • Experience with Altium, Eagle, and/or KiCAD
  • Experience with related engineering disciplines such as hardware reverse engineering, antennas, EMI/EMC, analog electronics, digital electronics, software, control systems, etc.
  • Experience with Design of Experiments practices and statistical methods
