About The Position

The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of electrical engineering principles, equipment control schemes, and PLC programming as it applies to HVAC system design. Responsible for designing and optimizing programmable control systems to maximize performance, efficiency, and reliability for Data Center cooling systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, or a related field
  • 5+ years of engineering experience, with at least 2 years in control programming experience.
  • Proficiency in control system theory and experience with PLC programming, graphic and HMI development and implementation.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to quality, accuracy, and project completion.
  • Excellent communication, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical information clearly and concisely.
  • Hands-on experience with sensors, actuators, VFDs, and various industrial communication systems.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex electrical and control issues.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in HVAC systems design and manufacturing, ideally with expertise in data center cooling technologies (e.g., Chillers, CRAC/CRAH units, liquid cooling systems).
  • Knowledge of applicable safety and compliance standards (IEC, NFPA, UL, etc.)
  • Knowledge of electrical design software tools such as AutoCAD Electrical.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement control strategies for HVAC systems, including the design of electrical systems and programming of PLCs or other control devices.
  • Provide control interfaces for electrical components such as motors, fans, VFDs, and other electrical equipment to meet project requirements.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to integrate control/electrical systems seamlessly into overall HVAC designs, ensuring compatibility and efficiency.
  • Conduct detailed analyses of HVAC systems to identify opportunities for optimization and improvements.
  • Perform comprehensive testing and validation of HVAC systems to verify compliance with design specifications and regulatory standards.
  • Prepare detailed technical documentation, including drawings, specifications, and reports, to support the design and implementation process.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in electrical engineering and HVAC systems design.
  • Provide troubleshooting expertise to technicians, field service, and onsite personnel during startup and commissioning of HVAC systems.
