Learn more at https://www.jnj.com Job Function: Career Programs Job Sub Function: Non-LDP Intern/Co-Op Job Category: Career Program All Job Posting Locations: Malvern, Pennsylvania, United States of America Job Description: Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine is recruiting for a Spring 2026 TDS Proteins Development Drug Product Development (DPD) Co-Op, located in Malvern, PA. Research & Development Co-op Overview: J&J R D encompasses the development of sophisticated materials, process improvements, risk management and mechanical testing through the development process across all sectors including Pharmaceutical, Medical Device, Consumer and Corporate/Enterprise. We offer a fast-paced cross-functional, technologically advanced, corporate environment, passionate about developing individual engineering and scientific skills. You will have the opportunity to learn about anatomy, disease states, deformities and the surgical procedure/products used to address these conditions. Life as an R D Co-Op: The R D Co-Op program provides each student with real-life hands-on experience, coaching and mentoring, networking opportunities, as well as the opportunity to meet people from various schools throughout the country. Each Co-Op will be assigned to a single function with a specific project for the 6-month term. The typical Co-Op term is from Jan 2026- Jun 2026.

Requirements

  • Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, and related majors are preferred.
  • Candidates must be actively enrolled in an accredited University for the duration of a co-op assignment pursuing a Bachelor's or equivalent experience, Master's, or PhD degree or equivalent experience.
  • For students pursuing their Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, Juniors or Seniors are preferred.
  • Minimum GPA of 2.8 is required.
  • Completion of Undergraduate Freshmen year at an accredited University is required.
  • Candidate must have previous process engineering experience.
  • Candidate must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. and must not require sponsorship for employment visa status now or in the future (e.g., FI, H1-B status)
  • Ability to demonstrate strong analytical and quantitative skills is required
  • Ability to balance multiple projects and initiatives while performing results
  • Must be a self-starter works independently while supplying to the team goals

Nice To Haves

  • Candidate with CFD modeling (COMSOL, Ansys), CAD, Statistics (DOE), and/or modeling (R, Python) experience is preferred but not required.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills are preferred
  • Proven leadership/participation with campus programs and/or community service activities is desired
  • Students with basic laboratory skills and experience in research, experimental design & execution, and data analysis preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Research factors that affect formulation properties and equipment parameters.
  • Learn and become proficient on lab equipment including viscometers, densitometers, etc.
  • Design and execute studies including development of test fixtures (3D printing, small scale equipment design, etc).
  • Develop models including computation software and/or statistical models (R, Minitab, etc).
  • Draft technical reports summarizing the work to help provide platform guidance.
  • Analyze and interpret experimental results using analytical and statistical techniques.
  • Actively participate in weekly meetings with internal and external collaborators.
  • Participate in technical discussions on design of experiments to fill gaps in knowledge.
  • Maintain a laboratory notebook and other technical documents according to required guidelines.
  • Provide other project support as needed.
