About The Position

This R D Clinical Research Senior Lab Associate position is an opportunity to be a member of the Biobank team in Westbrook, Maine. In this position, you will be supporting cutting-edge research projects that enhance the ability of veterinarians to provide advanced medical care throughout the United States and over 175 countries worldwide. This role provides on the ground support for sample collection, processing, organization and management following established standard operating procedures. Newly acquired biobanking software is used to maintain records of sample metadata and processing history, as well as monitor and fill sample requisitions from across IDEXX. The biobank also collaborates with multiple R D teams to create and maintain inventories of study-specific collection kits, and ensure critical materials are shipped out for in-the-field studies. This role reports directly to the biobank manager.

Requirements

  • Ability to understand and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), including safety and quality procedures.
  • Familiarity with the use of computers and software for maintaining records and tracking inventory.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment.
  • Good communication skills to interact with others at different levels, including customer-facing communication.
  • Ability to meet physical requirements of working in a lab, including standing and sitting for extended periods, lifting up to 50 lbs, and specific vision abilities.

  • Experience working in a veterinary clinic.
  • Prior laboratory experience.
