About The Position
The R D Assistant at Rana Meal Solutions will play a crucial role in supporting the research and development team with a focus on culinary expertise and food service experience. This position requires a proactive and analytical mindset, as the assistant will be responsible for conducting R D testing of finished products and raw materials. The ideal candidate will have a culinary background or knowledge, along with some experience in food service or industrial kitchen support. Attention to detail and the ability to work independently are essential, as the R D Assistant will need to follow instructions and manage projects without direct supervision from management. In this role, the R D Assistant will be expected to comply with all food safety, workplace safety, and quality procedures. Responsibilities include performing tasks delegated by the R D manager, accurately weighing recipes, managing R D samples inventory and shipments, and maintaining a clean and organized R D kitchen. The assistant will also need to demonstrate self-motivation and the ability to anticipate needs, even if not directly requested. After adequate training, the R D Assistant will be expected to execute pilot plant tests independently. The position requires excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and being bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus. The R D Assistant must possess basic math skills to calculate percentages and have a proactive, detail-oriented approach to their work. Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and Word is beneficial but not mandatory. The work environment is fast-paced and high-volume, requiring the ability to stand for prolonged periods and perform various physical tasks, including lifting and handling products up to 40 pounds. The noise level in the work environment is typically loud, and the assistant may encounter varying temperature conditions.
