About The Position

The Paramedic or Nurse (LPN, LVN, or RN) position at CSL Plasma involves evaluating donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures under general supervision. The role includes providing limited emergency medical care to donors and staff, such as administering medication or treatments in accordance with licensure or certification. The individual will interview donors and perform medical history reviews to gather necessary information to determine their suitability to donate plasma. In collaboration with the Center Medical Director, the position also requires responding to medically related questions and providing information to staff regarding donor suitability. The role involves reviewing test results to assess continued donor suitability and notifying donors about reactive test results, referring them to community facilities for follow-up and counseling. Routine care is provided following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), with critical medical situations escalated to the Center Physician or local medical service providers as required.

Requirements

  • Graduation from a paramedic, nursing, physician assistant, chiropractic, medical school or naturopathic medical training program.
  • If graduated from a foreign allopathic or osteopathic medical school, must be currently licensed as a physician or state certified as an emergency medical technician.
  • For NY: current state licensure or certification as an RN, MD or DO in the state of application or in a reciprocal state.
  • Minimum of one (1) year relevant experience in a health care environment.
  • Experience in a plasma or whole blood collection center or other regulated environment preferred.
  • Ability to make and analyze a physical assessment of heart, lung sounds, signs of drug use, etc.
