Teledyne Cable Solutions (TCS) is comprised of Storm Cable and VariSystems, an integrated alliance supplying engineered solutions to challenging cable situations. TCS provides application-specific, multi-core cable, and ruggedized assemblies for a variety of industries. The position involves creating wire, cable, and assembly quotations in accordance with customer requests and based on customer designs and current market materials costs. The role requires close collaboration with sales personnel and engineering to ensure accurate quotations and design specifications.

  • Utilizes various methods to gather information for identifying customer and vendor specifications including e-mail, customer drawings, internal drawings, and sales RFQ forms.
  • Works with engineering and manufacturing departments by calling design reviews to ensure product is quoted correctly and designed for manufacturability.
  • Works with the quality department to define test capabilities and costs for quote test requirements.
  • Uses various physical and mathematical tools to design product in Auto Cad or other computer-based drafting programs.
  • Quotes all wire, cable, and assembly products, including all raw material, purchased material, direct labor, overhead.
  • Meets established quote expectations, measurable by volume and deadline dates.
  • Communicates with suppliers to obtain pricing for quote purposes based on specific quantities and product specifications.
  • Reviews all incoming customer quote requests to ensure information is complete, revisions are accurate and updated.
  • Develops and stores all quotes and information in a manner that would allow access and information gathering by necessary personnel.
  • Establishes and continuously supports quote sheets, forms, files, etc. for the department.
  • High School Diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Minimum 2-4 years directly related experience working in a manufacturing environment, wire and cable manufacturing a plus.
  • Detailed understanding of product design and manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical information such as work instructions, engineering drawings, bill-of-materials, process sheets etc.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Availability to work additional hours as needed to meet goals and deadlines.
  • Ability to multi-task and work under pressure.
  • Due to the nature of the work performed at this location, all applicants must hold US person status.
  • Prior experience in sales is preferred but not required.
