About The Position

The Opportunity: The Quotation Specialist I generates a comprehensive Bill of Material “BOM” quote for our customers. With comprehensive product training and practice, the Quotation Specialist I will be able to leverage their expertise in the lighting industry coupled with exceptional customer service to meet the demands of our customers needs. This role also requires providing support with fellow team members and across various departments to meet customer needs. Each customer inquiry will be approached uniquely and with a strong commitment to professionalism and creativity. Most importantly, collaboration with colleagues will support the company’s interest to maintain a positive work environment aligned with the Elemental LED culture, characterized by Focus, Urgency, Collaboration, and Accountability (FUCA). In this role, you will be responsible for quotations and coordination of complex lighting projects.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent training and experience
  • Minimum six (6) months of experience in Elemental LED Customer Service
  • Ability to educate customers by phone and email on the proper usage of products
  • Ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve unique situations by phone and email utilizing pictures, videos, and architectural documents
  • Ability to multitask
  • Ability to ask and anticipate thoughtful questions to provide the correct solutions to the customer’s specific needs
  • Knowledge of lighting industry standard verbiage
  • Knowledge of all platforms used to include, but not limited to: Configure 1, Google Docs / Sheets, BlueBeam, Fishbowl, RingCentral, Company Website, etc.
  • Knowledge of sales order, customer, and project modules in Fishbowl

Nice To Haves

  • Quotation experience and knowledge of or interest in lighting technology are preferred, but not required

Responsibilities

  • Prepare for the quoting process which includes, but is not limited to:
  • Research and fully understand the application of the request
  • Is a crossover option available
  • Is a value-engineered option available
  • Identify additional accessories
  • Confirm compatibility
  • Check Inventory
  • Build a complete Bill of Materials based on the provided information
  • Properly relay pertinent information with templates, specification sheets, installation guides, and other documentation related to the quote
  • Maintain all future revisions and add-on requests for created Bill of Materials that come from the customer or on a purchase order
  • Follow up with inquiries by making outbound calls and emails when necessary
  • Gain the ability to read drawings, elevations, layouts, schematics, and other architectural documents
  • Gain a high level of knowledge of products to be able to build crossover quotes to competitor products
  • Gain knowledge to create drawings in BlueBeam based on customer specifications
  • Learn lighting industry knowledge to understand the specific needs of specification representatives, distribution representatives, and distributors
  • Understanding of Elemental LED divisions
  • Excellent verbal and written customer service skills
  • Courteously and effectively communicate appropriate information to fellow team members as well as members of other teams, i.e., Order Management, Customer Service, Shipping and Receiving, Manufacturing, Sales, Account Management, Supply Chain, Specials, etc…
  • Gain knowledge of the Special-Order requirements, products (such as Light Guide Panels), and process to quote as needed for specific applications
  • Use resources provided to research inquiries which include, but are not limited to:
  • Company website
  • Specification sheets / Installation guides
  • Internal Google Docs/sheets
  • Fishbowl
  • Configure1
  • Learn, understand, and follow policies and procedures put into place by Elemental LED management and relay them appropriately to customers
  • Continuous and proactive learning of new and updated products
  • Support teammates by applying FUCA (Focus, Urgency, Collaboration, Accountability)
  • Accept constant feedback from peers and management and implement suggestions as requested
  • Maintain a high level of client and company confidentiality
  • Learn and adjust to territory requirements by building and maintaining excellent rapport with Regional Sales Managers, Rep Agencies, Account Management, and customers
  • Performs related duties as required
