About The Position

The Quinta Mazatlan Coordinator plays a vital role in the planning, teaching, and oversight of various environmental, marketing, and history programs at Quinta Mazatlan. This position is under general supervision and involves working with diverse groups, including schools, scouts, youth groups, and volunteers. The Coordinator is responsible for coordinating family nature events and developing educational materials that enhance the visitor experience at this urban sanctuary. The role requires a passion for nature and education, as well as the ability to engage with the community effectively. In this part-time, seasonal position, the Coordinator will teach environmental education to a wide range of audiences, from preschoolers to adult workshops. This includes developing age-appropriate educational materials and outdoor interpretive resources. The Coordinator will also assist in marketing Quinta Mazatlan programs through various events and will maintain a photo library to document activities and programs. The role requires participation in trainings, seminars, and monthly staff meetings to ensure that the Coordinator is well-informed about the programs and activities offered at Quinta Mazatlan. The position also involves maintaining birding equipment and other educational materials, as well as conducting nature walks and interpretive programs.
