About The Position

As a QuickBooks Online Accounting Manager on our Monthly Recurring Revenue (MRR) Team, you will serve as a key financial steward for a portfolio of smaller and less complex clients. You will ensure the accuracy of monthly financial reporting, lead month-end close processes, and deliver meaningful insights that support client decision-making. You will oversee the work of shared service specialists on your client teams, complete and or review reconciliations, create journal entries, and assist with AP/AR activity as needed. Your ability to anticipate issues, streamline processes, uphold GAAP standards, and coach junior team members is essential to delivering on the mission to Wow professionally and CARE personally.

Requirements

  • Systems: Advanced proficiency in Excel (automation, data transformation, macros, power query) and comfort with multiple accounting systems
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
  • 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 2+ years in a leadership or supervisory role
  • Experience leading or supporting accounting system implementations and client onboarding
  • Comfort with multi-client environments and a fast-paced workload
  • Proficiency in accounting systems specifically QuickBooks Online
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Responsibilities

  • Month-End Close & Financial Reporting
  • Lead and oversee the month-end close for assigned clients, ensuring the completeness, accuracy, and timeliness
  • Independently prepare reconciliations, journal entries, AP/AR subledgers, and financial schedules
  • Resolve complex discrepancies
  • Draft monthly financial reporting packages, including analysis of results, variance explanations, and meaningful insights for clients
  • Detect potential misstatements, investigate inconsistencies, and ensure financials are GAAP-compliant
  • Manage recurring accruals, revenue recognition, COGS, inventory entries, and other monthly activity with minimal supervision
  • Integrate sales and operational data into accounting records and manage related accruals
  • Technical Accounting & Compliance
  • Maintain mastery of advanced technical accounting principles and GAAP requirements
  • Interpret new guidance, adapt accounting treatments, and apply judgment to unique client transactions
  • Review and ensure coding accuracy for bank, credit card, and non-routine transactions
  • Prepare and review payroll, bonus, and compensation accrual entries
  • Oversee sales tax filings and ensure state-specific compliance
  • Provide auditor support, consolidating requests and reviewing all submissions from junior staff
  • Identify and lead improvements to accounting processes across clients to increase efficiency and maintain compliance
  • Client Leadership & Relationship Management
  • Deliver exceptional service by demonstrating reliability, transparency, and proactive problem-solving
  • Field escalated questions and addressed client concerns with minimal supervision
  • Manage the client email distribution list: triage, assign, and ensure follow-through on all action items
  • Identify opportunities for value-added services, process improvements, or financial risks that need attention
  • Protect confidential client information and uphold ALC’s standards of professionalism in all interactions
  • Team Leadership, Coaching & Collaboration
  • Provide mentorship and coaching to Staff Accountants and Shared Services team members
  • Guide team members through technical development and help identify areas for growth
  • Review junior team members’ work with an eye for detail, accuracy, and development
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and shared learning
  • Collaborate with Controllers and CFOs to ensure client work is delivered with consistency and excellence
  • Encourage individual and team reflection to drive improvements in processes, communication, and service delivery
