Northeast Georgia Health System (NGHS) is committed to improving the health of our communities through operational excellence. The role involves utilizing the Quest for Excellence methodology, based on the Toyota Production System (Lean), to continuously improve processes and achieve strategic business outcomes. Internal Quest Resource consultants provide coaching, education, and facilitation of improvement activities, acting as champions for NGHS's operational goals. The consultants are responsible for developing Lean thinking and leading initiatives that enable daily improvements across all staff levels.

  • Assist in identification, prioritization, and selection of potential projects to optimize existing processes for waste reduction and cost control.
  • Participate in and lead projects resulting in process improvements and waste reduction.
  • Act as a positive change agent in support of Quest methodologies and initiatives.
  • Coach/mentor colleagues and employees at all levels in the use of Quest tools and methodologies.
  • Facilitate project team meetings and provide guidance to Senior Project Leaders.
  • Work with teams to identify problems, analyze information, and develop process solutions.
  • Educate and coach leaders to apply Quest principles and model Quest thinking.
  • Deliver Quest educational offerings as assigned.
  • Serve as a consultant and content expert to leaders and key stakeholders.
  • Develop effective communication methods that meet the needs of the target audience.
  • Maintain state-of-the-art knowledge on continuous performance improvement best practices.
  • Participate in the continuous improvement of division/department operations.
  • Lean certifications such as Accelerated or Rapid Improvement Workshop, Value Stream Mapping, 3P.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of experience with Toyota Production System (TPS) or equivalent.
  • Experience in leading Rapid Process Improvement workshops and facilitating 5S systems.
  • Experience in coaching and leading Lean improvement work in a healthcare setting.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of facilitation experience with diverse client groups.
