Looking For a Quartz Support Technician for Day and Night (12‑Hour Pitman Schedule) for Clean Room Environments The Quartz Support Technician applies logical and analytical thinking to safely follow verbal and written instructions while supporting cleanroom manufacturing operations. This role requires the ability to evaluate equipment performance, identify repair parts, and support preventive maintenance activities such as quartz changes, muffle etches, and cylinder changes. The technician manages multiple tasks simultaneously, works independently to organize daily responsibilities, and communicates effectively through accurate documentation and shift pass‑downs. Strict adherence to safety, environmental, and cleanroom protocols is required while working around hazardous chemicals, gases, and energized equipment.

Requirements

  • Requires a minimum High School diploma, or equivalent, and a minimum of six (6) months to one (1) year of experience performing support work in a related industry or manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to comprehend and interpret manufacturing and safety documentation, including PTNs; perform mathematical calculations using English and metric units of measure, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division; compute ratios and percentages; draw, read, and interpret graphs and charts; apply basic algebra to manipulate variables in simple equations; and assist with troubleshooting equipment and machinery as needed.
  • To ensure a safe work environment while meeting the physical demands of the job, you must be able to perform the following tasks:
  • Ability to sit / stand / walk / bend / twist / crouch / kneel / climb as required for various periods of time
  • Ability to lift/carry / push/pull up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to continuously stand and walk the entire shift
  • Required to reach, and to manipulate using hands and fingers
  • Frequently required to wear cleanroom attire, personal protective equipment and/or breathing devices

Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor equipment effectively to minimize impacts to production
  • Diagnose problems and effectively initiate appropriate request for repairs.
  • Monitor equipment to proactively detect potential malfunctions
  • Perform designated preventive maintenance and owner operator tasks as required, including quartz changes, muffle etches, and cylinder changes
  • Communicate with on-coming and off-going shifts to effectively coordinate support efforts
  • Strictly adhere to and model appropriate cleanroom protocol at all times
  • Observe and follow all safety/environmental policies and procedures
  • Utilize technical skills to install, assemble, and maintain associated process supply system components
  • Effectively maintain records of quartz changes, muffle etches, and cylinder changes
  • Write concise and accurate shift passdowns containing information of what was done on the shift and any concerns that need to be monitored or corrected
  • Achieve certification of basic proficiency for equipment in assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Continuously improve knowledge and skills.
  • Observes all safety rules and regulations
  • Maintain good housekeeping in all work areas
  • Participate in and complete training as prescribed by corporate requirements and the immediate leadership
  • Frequent work required in hazardous areas involving potentially dangerous chemicals, gases, electrical power, and stored energy
  • Responsible for understanding the hazards in the workplace, including hazardous waste handling and awareness.
  • Required to remain up to date on applicable trainings
