About The Position

The Quarterback Coach is responsible for developing the skills, techniques, and strategies of the team's quarterbacks. This role involves working closely with the quarterbacks during practices and games, analyzing their performance, and implementing training programs to enhance their skills. The coach will collaborate with the offensive coordinator and other coaching staff to devise game plans and strategies that maximize the performance of the quarterback position.

  • Ability to participate in practice and training sessions, demonstrating techniques as needed.
  • Capability to work long hours, including evenings and weekends during the season.
  • Bachelor’s degree in sports management, physical education, or a related field (preferred).
  • At least 1 year of experience
  • Previous coaching experience, particularly with quarterbacks at high school, college, or professional level.
  • Strong understanding of offensive strategies and quarterback mechanics.
  • Experience in analyzing game films and using video analysis software.

Responsibilities

  • Train and mentor quarterbacks in fundamental skills such as throwing mechanics, footwork, decision-making, and reading defenses.
  • Create individualized training programs that address the specific needs and strengths of each quarterback.
  • Develop and implement practice plans that focus on improving quarterback performance.
  • Analyze game film to evaluate quarterback performance and provide constructive feedback for improvement.
  • Assist in the preparation of game plans, including play selection and situational strategies.
  • Utilize video analysis tools to assess quarterback mechanics and decision-making during practices and games.
  • Track and analyze individual and team performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
  • Work closely with the offensive coordinator and other coaches to integrate quarterback training into the overall offensive strategy.
  • Communicate effectively with other coaching staff to ensure cohesive team strategies.
  • Foster a positive and competitive: environment that encourages growth and development among quarterbacks.
  • Serve as a role model and mentor to players, promoting teamwork, discipline, and a strong work ethic.
  • Assist in scouting and evaluating potential quarterback recruits, providing insights into player potential and fit within the program.
  • Maintain accurate records of player progress and development.
  • Participate in staff meetings and contribute to team discussions regarding strategy and player development.
