Quarry Manager
About The Position
Develop and execute strategic plans for quarry operations to meet production goals and business objectives. Oversee daily operations including drilling, blasting, excavation, crushing, and material handling. Monitor and optimize operational processes to enhance productivity and reduce costs. Ensure that all operations comply with safety regulations, environmental laws, and industry standards. Implement and enforce safety procedures, conduct regular safety audits, and lead safety training programs. Implement quality control procedures to ensure that extracted and processed materials meet industry standards and customer specifications. Monitor financial performance, track production costs, and implement cost-control measures. Maintain a high level of quality work at all times Maintain good relationships with Technicians, Foreman, Superintendents, Inspectors, Developers, and other co-workers at all times Aid coworkers to ensure that the site is clean and organized at the end of each shift Follow all safety rules and regulations while performing work tasks Perform other duties as assigned Represent and promote Grayson Carter and Son in a professional and honest manner
Requirements
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in quarry operations or mining, with at least 3-5 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
- Extensive knowledge of quarry operations, including drilling, blasting, excavation, and material processing.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to work in a quarry environment, including exposure to noise, dust, and varying weather conditions.
- Capability to perform physical tasks such as lifting and carrying materials, as well as climbing and inspecting equipment.
- Must be physically able to stand, walk, sit, crouch, kneel, climb, and periodically lift 75 pounds
- Knowledge of MSHA and OSHA Standards
- Requires personal transportation to job sites
- Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) on all job sites as required
- Work weekends and overtime as needed
- Committed to attending work each day
- Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen
