About The Position

The Quarry Night Shift Crushing & Maintenance Foreman is a hands-on leadership role responsible for supervising crushing plant operations and mechanical maintenance activities during the night shift. This position plays a critical role in ensuring safe, efficient production while maintaining full compliance with MSHA regulations and company safety standards. This is a working foreman position that requires strong mechanical expertise, sound decision-making, and the ability to lead crews with minimal supervision during off-shift hours. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 5 years of aggregate crushing plant experience.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Working knowledge of crushers, screens, conveyors, and basic electrical systems.
  • Thorough understanding of MSHA regulations.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license in good standing.
  • Able to work flexible hours to include nights, weekends and overtime as required.

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years of supervisory or lead experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Enforce all MSHA regulations and company safety policies.
  • Conduct required workplace examinations and document findings.
  • Ensure lockout/tagout procedures are followed at all times.
  • Lead safety meetings and toolbox talks.
  • Investigate incidents, near misses, and equipment damage.
  • Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task.
  • Supervise primary, secondary, and tertiary crushing circuits.
  • Monitor plant performance, throughput, and product gradation.
  • Adjust plant settings to meet quality and production targets.
  • Coordinate loadout operations as needed.
  • Communicate production or operational issues to management and day-shift leadership.
  • Supervise maintenance personnel and contractors during the shift.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot crushers, screens, conveyors, motors, hydraulics, and bearings.
  • Schedule and prioritize repairs to minimize downtime.
  • Oversee preventative maintenance activities.
  • Communicate parts usage and inventory needs.
  • Direct, coach, and develop equipment operators and maintenance technicians.
  • Complete shift reports, including production, downtime, safety, and inspections.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards throughout the plant.
  • Ensure effective shift handoff to the day crew.
