About The Position
MITRE is seeking an ambitious and motivated candidate to join MITRE's Quantum Moonshot project team for an internship in Summer 2024 to work on characterization of quantum memories and photonic devices. The Quantum Moonshot is a dynamic, fast-paced research collaboration between MITRE, MIT, and Sandia National Laboratories working on challenges at the forefront of quantum information science. The intern will have the opportunity to work with researchers on optimization algorithms for designing photonic structures to interface with quantum emitters. The intern will also have the opportunity to assist researchers with hands-on experiments characterizing quantum memories and photonic integrated circuits in our state-of-the-art laboratory in Bedford, MA. Other tasks include detailed data analysis and presenting results to the team, which includes collaborators at MIT and Sandia National Laboratories.
