Quantum Laser Scientist The Opportunity: Are you excited to apply quantum sensing technologies to critical national security missions? Requirements

  • Experience in a laboratory working with optics, lasers, photonics, and diagnostic hardware
  • Experience performing trade studies, down-selecting hardware, and making practical recommendations
  • Experience with a wide range of laser control or locking electronics, optical modulators, and laser system diagnostic tools
  • Experience in Python
  • Ability to drive practical science and engineering solutions to customer applications
  • Ability to implement optical, laser, and atomic physics experiments and perform measurements
  • Ability to convey complex concepts to varied audiences both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance
  • Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of experience using lasers in atomic physics experiments, or Master's degree and 1+ years experience using lasers in atomic physics experiments

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of experience in quantum mechanics, atomic physics, and quantum effects in sensing through industry work, scientific publications, or conference presentations
  • Experience leading and managing small to medium-sized projects in engineering, integration, and test
  • Experience working in a laboratory with atoms, spectroscopy, and alkali metals
  • Experience developing technology business plans and roadmaps, building and managing teams to execute projects, and overseeing resources
  • Experience in RF or RF photonics, including software defined radios and low noise amplifiers
  • Possession of strong collaborative skills to work effectively with different backgrounds and expertise
  • Doctorate degree in EE or Physics
