The Quantum Computing Advanced Research SME will support a team of skilled researchers to help drive advancements in quantum science research, including quantum computing, quantum sensing, and quantum communications, for the design and generation of technologies for our federal clients. As part of our team, you'll serve as a strategic technical advisor to program managers supporting our federal client, advising on advanced government-funded research and development programs. You’ll work with world-class scientists and engineers to provide strategic assessments of emerging technologies. You will maintain responsibility for producing and presenting findings and recommendations to a team of colleagues and clients on the feasibility and potential impact of future research programs, assisting with the management of current programs, and facilitating the transition of program deliverables to stakeholders.

  • Must be able to OBTAIN and MAINTAIN a Federal " TOP SECRET/SCI (TS/SCI) " with a polygraph security clearance. Candidates with an ACTIVE "SECRET" or higher-level clearance are preferred.
  • Doctoral Degree a in physics, electrical engineering, computer science, or a related field
  • TWO (2) or more years' post-PhD experience in quantum-information processing and/or quantum computing
  • An ACTIVE and MAINTAINED TS/SCI Federal security clearance with a polygraph
  • SIX (6) or more years of research experience in quantum computing, demonstrating a deep understanding of physical systems, quantum-information processing, error correction, and fault tolerance. Recent experience in managing a quantum-computing effort may substitute for up to two (3) years.
  • TWO (2) or more years' experience as a Technical SETA
  • TWO (2) or more years' experience managing multi-disciplinary, multi-institution research
  • TWO (2) or more years' experience in the IC, including experience with transitioning research products to other organizations.
